yeah i was never thrilled with the way the war was fought in Italy...frankly i don't understand why there was fighting in italy at all after the invasion of southern france? Fighting after that event was pointless and wasteful...as long as the allies had forces there the germans would remain there...they should have just dug in and stopped attacking.
