There is a Port in the UK whose Town Council and Residents proudly boast they got their Town planning courtesy of the Luftwaffe. It had little defence and got plastered. The frontage of the Co-op forms part of a memorial park held up by shoring opposite the City's Theatre.

The raids cleared many slum areas the town was able to rebuild, but you can still find bomb-damaged houses in the old town.
