Against the British night bombing, the Germans mainly used two-engine night fighters, directed with the help of German ground radar. But this was impossible for the normal single-engine fighters. Their pilots had to SEE the bombers with their own eyes.
For this reason, someone invented a risky tactic to hit the bombers directly above their targets - lightened by ground spotlights and surrounded by flak explosions.
How was this tactic called, and who invented it?
