The final fact is that the SS was under the Wehrmacht command in Poland 1939 (!) and thus they should have asked for Heer generals´ and officers´acceptance on these massacres. By making own decisions they angered the Wehrmacht officers and this ended up in putting the SS men in court-martial. Hitler released these men almost immediately and showed the way of the future in handling the jews and other "untermensch".
