Hi Martin,

I was in Normandy with veterans, mostly from 6th Airborne Div (Ox and Bucks, 7 th LI Para Bn, 8TH Para Bn,12th Yorkshire Para Bn) from the 2nd- 10th of June, what an experience, an unforgettable ocasion.

Was at Brickworks on 5th june for the ceremony which Prince Charles attended to unveil a statue to Brigadier James Hill the CO of 3 Para Brigade, and the drop by 1 Para and 7 Para RHA on DZ N at Ranville .

6th June we were at Ranville for the commemoration service at the cemetry and then at Pegasus Bridge and Benouville all afternoon with the Airborne vets.

7th June the colours of 12 Yorkshire Bn , Parachute Regt were laid up at the Pegasus memorial museum and then the veterans were awarded a commerative medal.

We were also accompanied by vets from the DLI ,Tank Corps (Fought with the BEF, 8th Army at El Alamein and then in Normandy), RAOC Beach Groups,Royal Navy.

It was a great honour and priveledge to be with them on such a historic occasion,

Paul
