Kai, exactly. You must remember that in the early stages of the war, there was almost any tank-to-tank combat. Except with the T-34s and KV-1s ALL the other tanks were unable to pierce each other. Beside, the German Blitzkrieg, as Andreas very well pointed out was to crush the enemy with an armoured hit, not with tank-to-tank combats. Again, that is a minor tactical detail.
