Red, the 3rd Fallshirm was active just to the east of Vire. Mt Pincon was defended intially by the 21st Panzer Division and two smaller infantrie divisions. Right near here the famous shoot out with Jagdpanthers of the 654th ? against Churchills took place. At the end of July into first week of August the 9th and 10th SS plus the Schwere SS Panzer Abt. 502 came into play which then stalled out the British advance, as the German units slowly pulled back.......
