Whilst the German armed forces grew weaker by the day the units on the Soviet side were being rotated. Above all else, the Russians had considerably less complicated methods than the Germans;they were not hampered by things like military tradition and divisional sentiment.The Infantry units continued fighting until they had been eroded and had become small residues no longer able to operate independently.
