I am saddened to report that European fighter ace of the 56th fighter group flying the P-47 / Gabby Gabreski died of a heart attack yesterday the 31 st of January 2002 at the age of 83. A Tiger of a man for sure with a keen eye as ever with many a good yarn. I was fortunate to meet and interview him along with ace and commander Hub Zemke in Sisters Oregon in the early 90's. Another one gone, and another one sorely missed......
