Well SPRs definitely an improvement on the old sixties tv series Combat.
This starred Vic Morrow and Rick Jason, and concerned a platoon of GIs liberating Europe single-handed-think Objective Burma with scenery.
Anyway, every episode these guys fired half a million rounds off, but the only people who ever got hit were Germans!
