A "Volksdeutsche" family in Eastern Poland. After the birth of the first son, the mother is killed in the 1918 in the chaos of Revolution. In 1920, the father again marries a jewish Russian and she gives birth to another son in 1922 and two daughters later.

After German/Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939 the family splits up, with the older son becoming a convinced Nazi joining Wehrmacht and the second son a communist joining Red Army. In summer 1941, the family is trying to escape the advancing Wehrmacht, but strand in Leningrad. "My" movie would show the ways of each three: the nazi son, the son in Red Army, their Volksdeutsche/Jewish family. Great tragedy showdown in the end when both sons are dying somehow to save the lives of the rest of their family in encircled Leningrad.

A nice mix of battle scenes, tragedy, horror of war, guilt, love, forgiveness, holocaust.

After all this movie should make at least some $ to cover the production costs.

Cheers,
