I agree Kai. During the final months of the war when Hitler ordered so many "last stands" and he wanted his men to fight to the death, the men just thought "why, why fight" so they gave themselves up in their millions.
The ordinary German soldier wasn't loyal to Hitler, and all the men were really fighting for was for their comrades.
