"Platoon" has some very good scenes. The best is the final, chaotic battle near the end of the film, when the NVA are running amok inside the US perimeter and the company commander takes over from the KIA battalion commander and orders an air strike on his own position - with an appropriate expletive - to prevent the NVA from overrunning the entire battalion.
