did not notice your question earlier, sorry about that.

The movie lasts some 2hrs 20 mins. The first hour is a bit dream-like symbolism but the second hour describes how a village was destroyed and the people burnt inside the local church. Overall I think they got the right perspective and actually it is not too much the usual anti-nazi stuff but showing how awful it all was in its "purest self".
The film was done in 1985 so I´m even more surprised that it´s so documentary-like. This was how it probably happened...singing, dancing, drinking alcohol, killing people...
