It is a bit overwhellming, but after a game or 2 you start getting the hang of things.

I think i learned a lot by playing nationalist China, A game as them provides you quick action, the war is mostly land based (no need for transports etc) so you just need to worry about the army and air force, your first enemies are relatively weaker than you but then you have Japan to take on as a challenge.

Don't be discouraged if you loose. Everyone looses this game at some point and sometimes continue to do so. It's just that the AI is pretty good.
