The Dutch marines and Navy both have a permanent presence on the Dutch Antilles. The navy has several ships and Orion recce planes in the area, used against drug traffickers. All this in very close cooperation with the US Coast Guard.

The Dutch antilles are a major through-way for drugs from South America to Europe/US. The Dutch/American taskforce has been very succesfull recently in capturing drug-ships.

As far as WW2 is concerned; I know of only one incident when a sole German U boote shelled(!) the Shell oil refinery on Curacau.
