Default There were six known, now there are only five known.

As of yesterday, America has lost another of it's WWI veterans. This WWI veteran was 109 years old and had the distinction of being the last American Female WWI vet living. All told, there are only five more (known) WWI American veterans still living. That number has shrunk from 13 down to five, in about 3 months. As of Thanksgiving 2006, that number had been around 51.

Folks, all too soon, we will be witnessing that sad event of not having anymore WWI veterans still living.

The Ladies first name is: Charlotte. Charlotte also had the distinction of meeting with the Secretary of Defense in 1916, to argur for the right for women to serve in our military.

May Charlotte, Rest in Peace.
