I have yet to see any info on those threads that I would regard as reliable historical sources.
Most of it seems based on heresay and rumour, with a rather fortunate basis that the records are 'destroyed in the war' and the island(s) in question are unlikely to be investigated.
Personally I think the whole thing is poppycock given the fact that the leading Japanese scientist's theory on atomic weapon design was flawed from the start.
