Yes, the film was quite "enjoyable". Just found it yesterday.
Malmedy itself was filmed as "an accident" where a GI tries to get a gun and the Germans after a fired shot at them start shooting all the GIŽs in the field. I guess this is the first time it was not shown as intended butchery. However the neck shots after the incident looked rather "evil"...
Anyway, one of the rare movies where even the spoken parts are rather ok to watch. Not much fighting but IŽll give it 8 out of 10.
And the top secret info ( by the RAF pilot ) does seem rather useless because the operation is already on the loose so that one did look rather out of picture in the film.
the main idea of the movie seems to be that not everyone is all bad ( even in war ) as the movie ends with a GI medic helping a wounded Waffen-SS soldier ( noticeable for the sleeve eagle ) because he himself was helped out of trouble by a Wehrmacht soldier earlier in the movie...
