Like Slipdigit, I had a good trawl through the 'net and found the same two figures ie ''over 5700" and "5709" but - as is so often the case with websites
, no sources are quoted . Another one gives the 4881 WWII figure from Vajda/Dancy and reprints the table from that book without, again, acknowledging the source......
