I've now been through all my 'Stuka' books ( Smith, Griehl, etc ) and I don't think that a 100% accurate figure can be obtained.
The reason being, as stated in Griehl's
'Junkers Ju87 Stuka' ( Airlife, 2001 ) that Junkers' production documents were destroyed/scattered to the four winds at the end of the war. In addition, a number of aircraft were modified to become prototypes of other Ju87 variants and again, much documentation is lost.Griehl searched many archives ( incl. NASM, Deutsche Museum, Bundesarchiv, etc ) and arrived at an
approximate figure of 6,500 total production of all types from beginning to end of production, of which the factory at Weser can be proven to have built 5,930.
Rather sad to think that only - is it two ? - complete examples remain intact with a few wrecks being rebuilt/restored.....
