Thanks Skip. It definitely wasn't a one night job thats for sure...LOL.

However, I agree with you that it does seem like they did it alone but, this is the history of the U.S. 30th Infantry Regiment and not the History of the U.S. 3rd Infantry Division. Granted there were indeed many other units fighting throughout history during the various conflicts the U.S. 30th Infantry Regiment has participated in. The various other units that are mentioned within the overall history, show that they were not alone by no measure of the imagination.

Granted the Colmar was not completely taken by U.S. 30th Infantry Regiment, the U.S. 15th Infantry Regiment was the other forward attacking regiment in the advance through the Colmar region but, the majority of the fighting did fall to the U.S. 30th Infantry Regiment's front.

If you could get some pictures of the the Colmar region I would love to see them...I'd love to see the Maison Rouge Bridge.
