Default Re: WWII Forums Quiz Part VII

Yep

DD 224 USS Stewart

Seen on numerous occasions by U.S. forces who could have "killed" it, but even after the Japanese trunked together her two forward funnels into a "shoe" configuration, and added a tri-pod mast, by those who sighted her deep behind the lines of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere....
and I Quote...."By all that is Holy in the silhouette book, she was American. Plumb bow, flush deck, and two after stacks."

Found at Kure-Hiroshima, lost at Soerabaja.

The Scuttling charges failed to go off, and the Japanese made use of her.

Wonder why nations sink there own ships when the situation becomes untenable ? Don't.

your go Slip
