P-3s are old sub chasers, they make regular passes when I'm sailing on the Penobscot Bay, used to be out of Brunswick NAS.

The DEA used A-10s(did in 92) to fly interdiction, surveillance and CAP. 30mm has a nice effect on a Baja 38. Carried a pod for radar and night vision.
