I agree. It is not the best series I've seen. WaW has to be closest to the best which I own and watch consistently.

I think Ken Burns has done a great job on making the story personal to people who don't know about WWII. He has taken families and individual towns and focused on them making the American public knowledgable to the extent of understanding the basics of what happened from 1939-1945.

Of course for knowledgable guys like us (meaning C.Evans, Kai and all you other WWII gurus{my heroes})LOL, it just doesn't hold the gumption that other more in depth series have to those who actually research WWII.
