Richard
I am afraid we have to place this in the list of lost causes.
There may ba a "right time" to raise the issue again in the future, but as usual this will be down the vagaries of our political masters.
With an election due in the UK shortly perhaps one side or the other might decide they might be able to scramble a few extra votes and make a campaign promise which they will promptly forget after the election.
The only truly effective way I see forward is to start the campaign in Canada, Australia and NZ, who provided a large chunk of the crews, and get some govt to govt pressure going. These countries seem to have more understanding of the sacrifices made. (Maybe a bit of my OZ bias here?)
Come to think of it there is an election in OZ shortly so now might be a good time. Think I will dash off a letter to "Johnnie" (John Howard, current PM)
