As far as i know we have about 4 or 5 WW1 Vets still alive in the UK , the oldest man in the country is Henry Allingham 110 years !! who served with 9 Squadron Royal Naval Air Service.

We only have one veteran of the trenches left alive, that is the famous Harry Patch 109 years, Private Henry John Patch a Lewis Gunner in 7th Battalion Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry and veteran of the Battle of Third Ypres also known as Passchendaele.

In September 2004 Harry met German Artilleryman Charles Kuentz 107 yrs at Mount Kemmel and they shook hands together.

The last of an entire generation !!
