Bodston has cracked it.

I've just searched on Google and found an excellent page on the 'Maple Leaf Up' forum devoted to the vehicle ( which I freely admit I'd never even heard of ).

It certainly is a Guy Quad ANT, most of which were apparently abondoned in France during 1940 and by the sound of it, the maintenance crews weren't too sorry to leave them there.....
