Yes - I find myself constantly correcting friends on that one. Schmeisser was actually responsible for a much earlier design, the Bergmann MP-18. (The British later copied it as the Lanchester.) The Ermawerke MP-38 should more correctly be called the Vollmer - although German nomenclature didn't follow this trend of naming firearms after their designers.
