Enjoyed this movie. Saw it when it came out in theaters and later on cable. It is thought provoking. Nick Nolte's character is especially living embodiment of ambition taking over, according to my interpretation. We are not always rewarded for doing the right thing. Doing only which is rewarded is well, evil to a sense.

I think the movie can trigger memories of past life experiences, I like these kind of semi abstract movies. Letting the viewer interpret the scenes for themselves. One gripe I have with Hollywood is its not always thought provoking.
