Following the war, his commission reverted back to that of sergeant, and during the Korean Conflict as a member of the Second Infantry Division, was involved in the now famous battles of Heartbreak Ridge, Bloody Ridge, and the May Massacre. Lt. Williams in Cape Elizabeth before its deactivation. Following his retirement from the Army, he continued to serve as a civilian, working in the supply division of U.S. Army recruiting.
In retirement, Lt. Sheehy was an active and helpful volunteer for many years with the V.F. W. No. 832, where he was a life member and former Quartermaster. He was also active with the 5th Infantry Regiment, where he was reported to be the last living member.
