William J. Sickmiller

William J. Sickmiller, 81, of Bryan,Ohio died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan, where he was a patient.
Born April 11, 1926, at Montpelier, to Netta (Stoll) and Elmer Grove Sickmiller, he married Patricia Ann Barber on Sept. 9, 1952, at Lake City, Mich., and she preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2000.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he had served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam era. He was the owner of J & P janitorial service in Cadillac, Mich., and retired as an over-the-road truck driver. A member of the Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, he was a life member of V.F.W. Post 8932 in Flour Bluff, Texas, and of Williams County DAV Post 83.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Ann Martin of Bryan; a son, Dale D. Sickmiller of Texas; two grandchildren, Duane Tollison of New York City and Erline Jenkins of Atlanta, Ga.; a great-granddaughter, Tabitha Jenkins of Atlanta; a sister, Betty Sharp of Sand Lake, Mich.; two brothers, Robert (and wife, Maxine) Sickmiller of Cedar Springs, Mich. and Ralph (Bernie) Sickmiller of Leesburg, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Polly Oxender of Bryan. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Donald Ray Sickmiller and Duane Sickmiller; a son-in-law, Mike Martin; and three brothers, the Rev. E. Charles Sickmiller, James Sickmiller and the Rev. Marvin Sickmiller.
There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
