This is one of the more "tangable" legacies of the second world war and it saddens me that these mines have not been cleared after 60 years!

Had it been European soil.. would the great powers not be held to account to remove these after the conflict? Now the burden of our sturggle long ago is the inhibiting factor of a poor third world nation. The clean up cost will be astronomical and the human cost will linger for decades more.
