Hi Wessex, thank you very much for sharing these photo's as well as the information you provided.

On that War Memorial above-the one with the approximately: 141 names of G.I's killed in the area, I know at least 2-3 of these men killed there, are from my hometown as their names are on our War Memorial located there at the County Courthouse. There was many-a-time when I would stop by and pay these Gents my fullest respect. In total for WWII, the losses of our guys killed in action through WWII are about 300-many were killed both at Pearl Harbor and in the Battle of the Bulge.

I have not thought much about this in years, thanks for bringing it back to the forfront of my thoughts and memories.
