Michelle, you better believe it ;-)) Rio Bravo is one of Duks top most liked movies. Dean Martin was very good and has an excellent singing voice. I can still (in my mind) hear him and Ricky Nelson singing: "My, Rifle, My Pony, and Me, as well as Cindy, Cindy. "Ths sun is hanging in the wesssst......" Martin sure could sing ;-))
Did you know that Walter Brennan (Stumpy) actually did play the Harmonica-as well as Gary Cooper. Both of them were excellent players.
Oh and Michelle, if you ever find time to go look and possibly join the two best sites on the net about Duke, there are plenty of Ladies on there who participate. A few come to minds-usernames are: Chester & the Mrs-the Mrs's name is Sue, Senta-who really is Very Stepanskaya from St. Petersburg, Russia, Smokey from Australia, Cindyrella (Cindy) and several ladies from Europe and several others. Also, it's on rocord that both Aiessa Wayne (one of Dukes Daughters) and Jenniffer Wayne (one of Dukes Granddaughters) both are registered members of
JWMB - The Original John Wayne Message Board! and both have posted there. Aissa Wayne has chosen the Legal field (she's an Attorney) and her daughter Jenniffer, is trying to make it as a Singer. I heard her sing a song when she was at her grandfathers 100th birthday celebrations in Winterset, Iowa-where Duke was born. Jenniffer Wayne has a very pretty singing voice and, I would not be surprised at all, if she soon becomes very famous.
