Re: Delay in Japan WWII Weapon Cleanup
They've been finding some of the massive amounts left by the Imperial Japanese Army since the end of the war. The reticent attitude of on-again off-again acknowledgement of responsibility over the years by the Japanese governments is disgusting. They have vacillated as to owing up responsiblity for the biological and chemical materials left and for the debauchery perpetrated against the Chinese and other Asian peoples during the 13 years they were there.
The German people came to grips with their place in history long ago and have suffered and attoned for it resulting in that they are much better of a society for it.
If you've ever seen an interview with former IJA personnel that participated in Nanking it's a chilling feeling to listen to the pervered "games" they played with babies and their other debauchery with no remorse. In fact one guy shrugs it off as "war" and ends with a little "ha-ha." Sick.
