Default Re: Worst WW2 movies ever made?

Some of you Gents keep "missing-the-train" when it comes to watching Battle of the Bulge. First off, the battle scenes were laid down and approved by: former Wehrmacht General Heinrich von Luttwitz, who was CO at the time, of the 47th Panzer Korps and he could also be blamed some about any cheesy battle scenes.

General von Luttwitz was hired for (begged out of retirement) and it was HIS job to create an effect for this movie, that suited the storylines that made up this movie. Also, some liberties had to be made with the making of this movie and so things here and there, had to be cut and changed, to fit their time frame for making this movie; as well as to fit within the budget they had.

The movie was merly a fictionalized account based on few facts, about the Battle of the Bulge. Also, you should enjoy it even if only because of the great actors who were in this movie.

Also, one important thing always over-looked when people comment on how bad this movie was, was that one of the main reasons why parts of the movie seemed to not fit in perfectly, is because they (Hollywood-and the Powers-That-Be) were only trying to convey the essence of what the Battle was about. For this and other reasons listed above-and mainly because of the actors involved-I have and will always enjoy watching this movie-especially the restored version of it.

I agree with Framer.T in that Battle of the Last Panzer, sucked Prune Pits.
