For sure Slipdigit. They were supposed to keep on its axis of advance aided by tracer fire from antiaircraft guns firing on fixed lines and by the use of radio. These techniques were devleoped by the 8th Army in Libya, it worked in the trackless wasteland in the desert but did not help in northern france. They eventually went off track and ended up a fair ways away from their actual objective.
