The Enemy Below (I think that's the name) where a US Frigate is stalking a Soviet sub and it ends badly.
A really good cross between that and
Das Boote showing the nerve wracking tedium of ASW for surface ships and the sheer terror of being on a sub under attack in one movie would strike home.
