Have to agree with CanadianCitizen, ZULU, when Hook eventually decides he is part of all this and gets off his bed grabs his rifle and the music cuts in, seems to be the music for victoria cross actions in that movie, same music when wounded vc earners start moving ammo supply.
Hook was in fact a short dumpy figure in real life with a big Vicrotian Moustache. Its interesting to see what happened to all the real characaters after they left the army. Have a particularly good illustrated book on the battle and the individual actions of those centred on in the movie together with a sort of where are they now section on how they died, buried etc in the years afterwards.
