Good for you. Giving up an evil occupation for something far more glamourous and productive! You have risen above drug dealer and used car salesman finally in the ranks of onerous employment!
As for myself: I work for the Department of Justice at a Federal prison teaching construction trades to the inmates (it pays surprisingly well). I was hired to teach them electronics but they were generally too !@%@% stupid (putting it mildly) to learn that subject. Having been in the US Navy for 27 years and a CPO for a good part of that it was a good fit as there isn't much difference between old-time sailors and inmates.....
I also do general and electrical contracting on the side. Again, my day job helps when hiring day labor.....at least I can recognize the tats and weed out the real losers quickly now....
