I always 'bang the drum' for Carell's Eastern Front books here - despite his SS affiliations.....they are some of my favourite Eastern Front books.

There are 3 ( or three-and-a-half ) :

'Hitler's war On Russia Vol. 1 - Hitler Moves East' ( 1964 )
'Scorched Earth - Hitler's War On Russia Vol. 2' ( 1970 )
'Bildband' ( 1967 ) - photos to accompany the other two books.

Carell then produced 'Stalingrad' for Schiffer in 1993 which is basically an abridgement of the Stalingrad sections of 'Vol. 1' with some alterations and updating - it also has a useful black-and-white photo section.
