I just recieved word this morning from my Uboat vet/friend that U 181s only living Knights Cross Recipient is very ill and no longer can leave his house. He is 89 years young.

I had hoped to be able to share soem positive things about [img]graemlins/rk.gif[/img] Carl-August Landfermann.

He was an Oberleutnant (Ing) and Leitender Ingeuineer on U 181 under the command of Wolfgang Luth. He was awarded his [img]graemlins/rk.gif[/img] Knights Cross on October 27/1943. This is shortly before Luth was transferred to other duties.

At any rate, I will be saying prayers for him.
