Default HMS Devonshire - Destroyer

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction here.

My Grandad served in the Royal Navy from 41 onwards as a carpenter i believe he was chief petty officer. Anyway i know that his favourite ship he served on during the war was the Devonshire and i remember him saying that they were involved in the convoys to russia. Unfortunately my grandad died before i really got in to studying the war and his military record is less than complete for some reason.

My question is does anyone know anything about the Devonshire and what she did during the war?

Thank you very much for that Mr Gardner. I guess she was a cruiser not a destroyer after all.

I really find it sad that historic old ships should be scrapped.
Cost to much to keep alive I suppose.
