Re: für Carl
Hi E, thanks for the 2 pics of Klaus Feldt. You lucky you, you have a color pic of him. Both of mine are B&W, one is signed which is a postwar sig. The other is a HH KM PK press foto of der Olt.z.S. being awarded his Knights Cross by G.A. Erich Raeder. It's been awhile since I last looked at my pics of him but your colorized pic I think was taken after the signed pic I have of him. Great photos non-the-less.

I like em. I think I only have three color pics in the collection. These three are of Hitler in some ceremony that is taking place on the Bismarck.

Re: für Carl
his first name is Georg............maybe that will help. Note the backdrop again of red curtains, there seems to be a proliferation of KM Offiziers that received awards and had photo sessions as one large group probably on the same date(s)

I wonder if he is the Son of Friedrich Christiansen? If so, his Papa was one of the lesser-known higher-ups.

Re: für Carl
I can't think of his name and I know he isn't Paul Brasack.
PS, I don't have either of my books with me to do a little "cheating." ;-D

Re: für Carl
You were right, Erich. I knew the U-boat'er at first glance.
Karl-Heinz Marbach, KC 22 July 1944. Kdt. U 953 (and U 3014). Marbach is credited with 1 sinking for 1927 tons.
Marbach served 7 patrols as commander of U 953 at a time when every second u-boat was being sunk.
Having said that....I'm stumped on the skimmer
