sunk by captain von Tiesenhausen's U-331 boat in a torpedo attack. one of the most famous as well as horrifying films of a battleship capsizing and blowing up. ive seen this video hundreds of time over the years. in documentaries and war movies. but I never found which one it was till recently.

the explosion is her magazine going up. over 800 died and over 400 survived. this is the longer vid version.

One of the saddest film clips that I have ever seen. It ranks right up there with the USS Arizona blowing up at Pearl Harbor.

And it never stops blowing up. Nearly every ship that has ever sunk has been shown as the Barham blowing up. Film editors don't seem to notice that the same footage has been used dozens if not hundreds of times before.
