Default French Air Force Vehicle Insignia.

One of our members on the sister site WW2Talk.com posted this image of French Air Force personnel in Dunkirk 1940.
Can anyone identify the unit denoted by the star on the mudguard?
Any further info would be welcome too.
Thanks.

Wessex, I spent some time looking up French army insignia's and I haven't found it yet. However I found the list of fighter squadron insignas listed and it was not on it. So at least you can narrow your search. I will ask my friends.

Thanks Skipper, I thought you might be able to help.
Maybe a Corps or Army level formation?
