Default The Battle for Grandmenil

Hello,
Hereby I would like to introduce you to my website "The Battle for Grandmenil".
Grandmenil is a small village in the Belgium Ardennes, where fierce fightings took place in the last days of december 1944.

The website contains the stories of the battle (in timeline), maps, meetings and the incredible story of a found dogtag.

Last week I've added a story about the monument near Ottré.

You can read the website in Dutch and English.

I've you look over your shoulder, in the direction of the church: my house is on the left of it. Actually you can't see it very well, because my backyard has huge tress....

As the expression goes, 'it's a small World...' I'm envious - you live in a beautiful and historically fascinating area !

Hi Bob,

I am quite familiar with your website, and the battle of Grandmenil. In fact last month I was in Sadzot researching the "Sadsack affair" with the 87th Mortars and the 509th. I hope to return to that area in the next year to research some activities of the 84th ID further down the road toward Marche. if so I will look you up!

Cheers,

Kevin

Bob, Very nice web site, and kudos for your efforts. I recall you posting some photos in the 2d Infantry Division discussion group.
