For one man, the pages of the manuscript turned out to be treasure more valuable than jewels: the diary of Henry T. Gorrell, a UP press correspondent who from 1936 to 1943 followed the threads of war all over Western Europe. But it's more than a war story, as I note, it's about an extraordinary man.
