Here is the PLM, at the end of this rack.

And you are right Skipper, more medals will indeed need to be added once Carl gets close to 12,000.

Heh heh, and what are you going to do when Kai and I reach that last one? The solution is reeeeeeeel easy. ;-))
One suggstion for a possible addition I could make is an award I would give my left............ for, which is an Imperial Russian award made of Gold and Platinum and I think only a few hundred were awarded--really a beautiful award. Check here next time for the answer.

At a pinch you could chop off a few thousand posts out of Carl and Kai, and say it was the computer's fault. That's an excuse that always works

It makes me thing of Charlie Chaplin's Great Dictator and "Herring's" medals all over his chest.

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Suppose it takes at least a year to get a 1000 posts, getting the Expert status would take ten years and 20.000 would take me to 2027!!! So respect to those who have achieved the Expert status .

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Ya know it's amazing. You never know where a thread is heading until it's there. I started this thread thinking I'd get a simple answer to a simple question and now it's grown like a kudzu vine after a good gulley-washer. For those of you who don't know what kudzu is, googling it doesn't give you the full impact of its growth potential. To plant it, poor a thimble full of water on the ground, drop the seeds and RUN!!! It's the scourge of the South, imported to here from Nippon in the 1930's to control erosion. Well, that's not all it will control. I've seen houses completely covered in the dang stuff.
If you want to get rid of the noxious vine, fence around it (if you can before if grows over you and the fence) and put in a herd of goats or hogs. That's the best way to kill it.

I can't understand why you'd award the Medal of Honor and the Victoria Cross before the Knights Cross. Although Germany was the longest in the war among the three nations it seems that the Knights Cross was awarded with the most frequency. Unless I'm wrong somewhere the following is the number of respective awards given with each medal: Knights Cross: 890 awarded; Medal of Honor: 464 awarded; and Victoria Cross: 182 awarded. Just curious how you arrived at this.....

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Does it have to have a hierarchical order? Then what about the Soviet Order of Victory, 18 awarded? It was ommitted and I'm not making a fuss. This is only for decoration, not real awards. Otto could have used cat food tins.

There was no pattern here, it just worked out that way. I'm pretty sure that the Mannerheim cross was awarded the least of any of the ones you mentioned wilconqr, but it appears before them all. There was no method, and no madness.

Yeah, I only know a few of them as well. And I wasn't trying to insinuate any madness here at all. Gracias.

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Yep,
I bet it´s better to put them in random order because we could never decide in which order they should be if there was a vote...democracy can be a b... sometimes.
PS. More medals! More medals!

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
Just wait till OTTO & PEPPY, have to pick more awards Hee hee. One thing I HIGHLY suggest when they have to cross that road is to look into Imperial awards. Not only do they look great but many of those are equal to the MoH, VC, HotSU, KC, etc etc etc etc.
Just a suggestion of course

Re: Them fancy medals adorning our posts
You get your first one at 21 posts Iroh, then 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 1,200, 2,000 then one more for each 1,000 posts after that. Right now you are only three posts away from your first medal!

Good show ;-)) And you can see what is ahead for you. It took me around 6 1/2 years to get this far--less time for Kai Petri. We both have worn out many keyboards getting this far.
